Abstract
A novel type dense diffusion barrier oxygen sensor was introduced. The 8 mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia (8YSZ) was used in the preparation of the dense diffusion layer as well as oxygen pump layer. From the tested results, it can find out that the limiting current of sensor exhibits no linear relationship with oxygen concentration which clearly different from the traditional dense diffusion barrier oxygen sensor. In order to explain this difference, a diffusion model was illustrated and from this model, the new function of limiting current vs. oxygen concentration can be gotten.
