Abstract
This paper presents a low-cost methodology of how to integrate measurement units into fiberreinforced material. Part of this work depicts the manufacturing of encapsulated sensor nodes suitable for harsh industrial applications and enabling condition monitoring plus the collection of measurement values out of the material after the final fabrication of the product itself. Hermetically encapsulated sensor nodes equipped with wireless power supply enable the direct capture of measurement values without the need for additional wires and thus are nearly independent of the location as well as the prevailing environmental conditions. These advantages were opened up as an example for the area of industrial electromagnetic safety brakes commonly used suitable for electric drives.
