Abstract
This work presents a novel QCM sensor with a unique topology design, developed based on distribu-tion of area for improving mass sensitivity (DAIS), for the VOC detection at parts per million (ppm) levels. A polymer sensing layer is applied to facilitate the adsorption of target analyte molecules during experimentational phase. The DAIS-QCM sensor exhibits superior mass sensitivity when exposed to various concentrations of VOC target analyte, showcasing an enhancement of over 10% in compari-son to a conventional QCM sensor used as a reference.
