Abstract
This paper focuses on the optimazation of a localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) based sen-sor element intended for biosensing applications. Finite element method (FEM) was used for the de-sign of a digital twin of a physically realized plasmonic sensor consisting of hexagonally arranged el-lipsoidal nanoparticle arrangements. The effect of light illumination conditions, namely polarization type and angle of incidence on the refractive index sensitivity of the particle arrangements is studied.
